Drove a Maser GT today

So I was on my typical weekend driving festivities with my wife and we were looking at the local Ferrari/Maserati/Lambo dealer. So after a while, the GM asked what we were interested in. I told him the GT - so we ended up driving it.

Very impressive car. Surprisingly quick (not an S), VERY comfortable, good brakes, nice handling. My wife likes it better than the Aston V8 Vantage. I am still torn between a new GT3/Turbo or this car. I think I'd get bored because it's so comfy, but it's dead gorgeous...

Any input from you GT owners out there?

Also, I saw a white RS4 on the neighboring Carmax lot. It was the only white one I've seen outside of a trip to Laguna Seca a couple years ago...

As much as I love the looks of the GT, I just couldn't bring myself to pick a "pretty good at everything, not really good at anything"-car in that category. Just get a Guards Turbo, brova! You know you want the 4WD!

I love the Maser GT, but you'd have to get the 'S' version to make it a somewhat sporty car.

It's a perfect DD in my opinion but if it were to fill the spot for being the sports car i would certainly get something more hardcore.

Looks great. But for the price you could get an R8. End of story.

^^^ What he said. It's gorgeous, but so is the R8.

This is exactly how I feel. If I got it, I'd definitely get an S, and I'd lease it. That way after 3 years, I could get my Turbo. :P I do have to say, that GT was pretty nimble doing some fast sweepers and a couple of tight corners. One good thing about Virginia is that there are some gooooood driving roads around here.

Dana - I'm not a fan of the R8. Seen plenty - just doesn't get me hot like the Turbo/GT3/Aston/GT-S do...

I say lease an S for a couple of years and then get a turbo/GT3. Beautiful cars and I know I enjoyed mine ('04 Coupe GT) so much!

GTS is the way to go, it looks killer but so does the Vantage. So in the end it comes down to whether you're willing to put up with a flawed, albeit beautiful GT or the archetypal sports car. Because you've already got the perfect DD in the shape of a RS4 I'd go for the car from the Fatherland.
