So who is the parent for Maserati now. I had heard somewhere that Ferrari wasn't the owner anymore but the cars are still getting Ferrari engines so are they still the owners??

 

Fiat owns both Maserati and Ferrari.

Fiat bought Maserati in 1989. In 1997 they sold a 50% share of Maserati to Ferrari (which is owned by Fiat). In 2005 Fiat repurchased the 50% stake due to restructuring and a General Motors agreement fallout.

Actually, the whole Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/etc belongs to Cerberus, and VW doesn't own lambo and Bugatti and co., VAG does (Volks AG). Slight difference, as Porsche owning 51% of VW is quite different from owning 51% of VAG.
