BMW Official Confirms X5 and X6 M-Models are Coming
#1
Over the years we have heard BMW officials strongly deny M sport variants of the X5 and X6 time and time again simply because they can’t offer the same dynamics as the M saloon, roadster and coupes. And now, after a recent interview with Auto Motor und Sport, BMW M GmbH’s boss, Ludwig Willisch, has performed an about-face in perfect military style.
According to Willisch, ‘M’ prototypes of the X5 and X6 are both in existence and are currently undergoing testing at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. He continued that BMW M GmbH plans to complete both models by the end of 2009 and have them on the roads shortly after.
Therefore, if BMW is compromising its M philosophy, then why not add a diesel? When asked if this was a consideration

I'm soooooooooooooooooo mad i don't have a camera on my blackberry. I drove along side a camo'd caravan of bmw's a few weeks ago for like 3 miles. there was a new 7 series and the M versions of the x5 and x6. The x5m was the second car from the rear and got stuck at a red light with a normal x5 4.8 behind it. I was stopped on the right side of the trailing X5. You could tell that they were all worried about being separated from the caravan and as soon as the light went green he got on it. It was LOUD and flew off the line leaving the 4.8 that also floored it about 5 car lengths back within seconds. Lots of camo but looked like it was going to look good
