I like the little 1 series it reminds me of what the E30 M3 was all about. Light, short wheelbase, and very easy to toss into a corner = a fun car. With mods these can be pretty quick also. To each their own though. I have yet to drive a new 335 but the E46 was a bit over weight IMO.
