2013 BMW M3 F80 Caught on the Autobahn
This spy videos were filmed on the German Autobahn. The videos have been filmed by a tuned 1M Coupe with more than 420 hp owner who was chasing the prototype.
As we have reported before, the new M3, which is internally called the F80, will be the first of the M versions to appear on the market in summer 2013 based on the new platform. The coupe version will follow a bit later on and will most likely be named M4 since the new 3 series based coupes and convertibles are rumored to get the 4 series name. But there is still plenty of time until the M3/4 Coupe makes its debut so things may change by then.
Easy to make out on this prototype are the wider fenders and the big air intakes in the front bumper. Big brakes and the quad exhaust pipes are other typical M features that we can see here. Power is rumored to come from a turbo charged six cylinder engine this time, we are still unsure if there will be two , or three turbochargers.

Ha!
Some nice straight line battling going on there.
The new //M got a great wide stance imo and the power def gotta be up quite a bit since it could easily walk away from that 420hp 1M which weighs less than an M3..

Was trying to find a forum that might answer this but couldn't (at least from iPhone) but why is the M3 designation F80 when the platform it's based on is F30??? Surely they haven't gone through 50 F numbers already, have they?
