Spied: New BMW M6 Convertible, Looking Production ready

Our Teamspeed spies send us today another set of images showing the next generation M6 convertible out and about testing. Shown here with the least amount of camouflage tape on to date and in stunning space grey, the new M6 convertible, like the coupe, is expected to be revealed just ahead of the 2012 Paris Motor show.

The 2012 M6 coupe and convertible will share the same 560hp 4.4L Twin Turbo V8 from the F10 M5. The monster 4.4-litre engine develops top output of 412 kW/560 hp at 6,000 – 7,000 rpm, while its maximum torque of 680 Newton meters (502 lb-ft) is on tap between 1,500 and 5,750 rpm. The rev limiter intervenes at 7,200 rpm. The rev band, which offers extremely dynamic acceleration between the arrival of peak torque and the availability of maximum output, is therefore almost three times as wide as that of the predecessor unit.

The sprint from rest to the 100 km/h (62 mph) mark like the M5 should be in the range of 4.2-4.5 seconds. Maximum speed will be electronically restricted to 250 km/h (155 mph); if the optional Driver’s Package is available as in the M5 this limit is raised to 305 km/h (190 mph).

If you recall we spotted the M6 Cab testing here in sunny California back in August. You can see all those images here: https://teamspeed.com/forums/m/62536...-top-down.html

Bangle needs to come back - nothing can make the new 6er nice looking. Has got to be one of the biggest let downs of BMW in a while!
