The new BMW M5 is a high-performance sports car whose exceptional dynamic potential is geared squarely towards the demands of track use, while – at the same time – sets a new benchmark in daily driving with its touring comfort and innovative equipment features. It also sets the pace in its class in terms of efficiency.
It's the pure embodiment of 'controlled' performance - more powerful and efficient than its predecessor with a 552 bhp twin-turbo V8 engine featuring valvetronic and vanos. It's a completely different engine to the similar looking engine in the X5 M - higher revving, better breathing and different turbochargers with more boost (1.5bar vs 1.2bar).
Performance is blisteringly quick with 0-62mph easily accomplished in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 189mph (with M Drivers pack). Perhaps the most astounding achievement is the CO2 emission figure of 232 g/km, which is a whopping 125 g/km better than its E60 M5 predecessor.

Little surprised at the growl of the exhaust. Guess I'm used to the cam sound of the old V10. I like it! Wait, I Love it!
This looks to be a winner. Guess BMW still has a few tricks up it's sleeve after all.

The new front bumper seems to accommodate a front plate nicely. Everything else seems to be in order as well. love that interior color even though it isn't extremely practical. The rear TV's seem be to nicely integrated as well. Although in an M5 the passengers should be keeping their eyes on the road and not a TV.
