The 11' 328 loaner reaffirmed my M3 spec

The only option this car has is the autotragic.

It's got manual seats, no sunroof, no nothing.

It makes a huge difference, especially for me the driver.

Whereas my buddy's 335i felt cramped sitting in track dirving position, this loaner felt just right with the manual seats set to the lowest, I have about a fist height of head clearance. No such luck in the sunroofed E90 body for me, I can't sit properly in them.

Also, I have to double check, but the way the backseat angles into the trunk in the LCI E90 actually makes more efficient use of the space, and the rear facing Maxi Cosi actually takes up less legroom than the non LCI 335.

All in all, I am very glad I ordered the M3 with no sunroof and manual seats, and surprised that it actually has at leat the same amount of usable space for car seats as the E39 M5.

And so far, I am liking my M3 dealer quite a bit, I spent a good deal of time talking about cars with my SA (he's got 335d and 335i), cool guy.

Its really amazing how base spec that base spec e90's are. Makes you love what you normally drive.

Where is the BMW factory in South Africa where this car is from?

Yeah, manual would have been better. The autotragic really is tragic. But not having sunroof in a small car like this really makes the interior much less cramped for a tall guy. Manual seats help some more as well.

Holy crap ya thats base...and I'm always thankful for the options haha...especially navigation! Lol. That said, my local BMW dealer and Porsche dealer gives the best loaners...either 5 series (new and w nav), x5s, or 335s and the Porsche dealer uses panamera v6s.

The plant is in Rosslyn. Last time I booked in my e36 M3 they gave me a base 320i, also auto. I was so happy to get back into my nearly 20 year old car after the e90 320.

I WISH the porsche dealership in Downtown LA would give decent loaners. Everytime i go in they get me some POS car from Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

^Yes! The Porsche dealer up here does the same. The audi dealer is apart of the dealer chain, and audi owners get audi rentals. Doesn't make sense!
