New roadie!

JEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzz.
I JUST fixed the wing, and fifteen seconds later i'm already getting shit for the hood!
All joking aside, i bought a new hood (this one is fibreglass. 50lbs lighter, but horrible fitment), but its in ontario.
and despite me doing this today

i'm headed in the wrong direction. I'll fly to toronto and crate it up at some point, but probably not this season.

I like the car. But you should consider getting rid of that hood and that wing. And those doors are pretty ugly. To be honest, those wheels are pretty sucky too. Have you thought about an engine swap? And a new color? I think they look great in black. Do you know there are aftermarket tail lights that look pretty cool? You should also get a nice trunk now that you have those terrible holes in it. And tint those windows maybe 15%, and maybe pick up a nice sticker for the rear window that says, like, "I'm here to party" or something cool like that.
And maybe later you can do some suspension mods on it that makes it go lower and corner better. Also, you should get an aftermarket sway bar to really make it corner better. Have you seen those aftermarket angel eye LED things? If you don't have those you should get them.
You know, the throws on that gearbox is really awful. Have you looked into getting a short shifter? And while you're at it, maybe get a better gearbox too. You should also maybe fit GT3 seats in it, assuming they fit. If they don't, you should cut up parts of the car so that they do. And maybe get a set of sports pedals.
Have you thought about getting an M3?

I know almost nothing about these cars, but a colleague of mine had one. Got it re-flashed to match the M3's engine/throttle mapping and the difference is night and day.
The throttle mapping seems to be what really holds this car back. Read reviews on the normal BMW tuners (DDM, Dinan, etc.) and see which one offers the best software.
If you can find someone with a similar tune you'll be saving your pennies 5 seconds into the drive.
Other than that, the wing looks great off the car, and congrats! Enjoy it!

I already upgraded the audio, and am going to put a 3.73 diff (the stock 3.15 was intentionally put there by bmw to try to slow the car down vs a e46 m3, which has the same motor but a 3.64/3.46 diff, can't remember)
Diskreet, the throttle map is driving me crazy. The s54, despite not being that torque-y, still has too much jam for wot off the line without spinning even after you first hook, and trying to control wheelspin with the gas pedal with a non-linear throttle map sucks. Having said that, changing the throttle map does nothing for peak power or torque.
Unfortunately, whoever made the sport mode controllers (basically a switch that adds a sport mode button) hasen't made them in years, so the only way to add it properly is with a tune like you said.
Even more unfortunate is that this isn't an option for me, as i refuse to raise the redline past 7600 due to rod bearing issues. (s54's in roadsters were not recalled). I may manually wire up a sport mode button, but, if i do it my own DIY way, i wont have a light indicating if sport mode is on.
Mabye i'll change the rod bearings and eventually raise the redline, we'll see. I just quit my job so i could move with my wife, so all that talk will have to wait.
I've seen these cars run a 13.0 @ 102+mph with just a 3.73 and sticky street tires. That should be enough (for now).

Ok, so he probably just had the switch. I'm sure you can find info on how to build your own, and if you share the schematics with me I can show you how to do a light. Private message me some time if you want help. I should at least try to use all those electrical engineering classes.
