mtechnik - Any word on when this car will be released or on MSRP? I want to put my name on the list at my local dealer in case I decide to get one in early 2012 (delivery by April 2012). This car looks AWESOME.

I'm lining stuff up - my 40th birthday is going to be GOOD.

Right now, my new house is #1. Then I've got my eye on the new M5, Golf R, and something else (in that order). The Cayman R has fallen by the wayside due to some backchannel conversations.

 

Same here! haha! That's BMW test engineer Bernd Limmer. He was very big in the E9X development program. It's a subtlety that shows this car can be an absolute sporty beast, yet remain comfortable and civilized, even going over 180 mph. I love it.
Not yet. That may come during the M festival in June (23-26), or even later in the year around the Frankfurt Auto Show.
There will be an official introduction at the M Festival June 23-26 during the 24 Hours of Nurburgring race (2 weeks after 24 hours of Le Mans). Sales will begin early 2012 at around $100,000 mark. I like your plan, Chris. The M5 and Golf R are two of my favorite cars coming out. I hope the new 1M or 2M will be a good match for the Golf R.

 

It sounds really good, despite being turbo'ed. I'd love to have a job like that.
