Z4 M coupe & E46 M3 + KW's & 19's

I've been M3-less for the last few months ever since I sold my last M3, so I picked up an '07 M coupe off a friend here in Seattle. Car was completely stock, 54k miles, pretty good condition. Wasted no time getting the car out of stock form. KW provided a set of V3's for my car and V2's for my friend's M3.
Installed Rogue rear shock mounts on both sets. On with the photos...

working on a front

all done. the install on the z4 M coupe was a bit quicker than the M3, it was like installing stock suspension. No surprises, no issues.

M3 finished

Friend of mine (Mark Perrault) bought an M3 out of detroit last week that came with a set of 19x9.5 19x11 Work Meister S1's. We test fitted them on my car just to see how they fit.. well they actually fit pretty well, to my surprise, so I bought them.

Definitely had to do a bit of fender rolling though..

fast forward to yesterday.. washed both cars before taking some photos in Fremont and Queen Anne (Seattle).

my house mate's 964:

Wheel specs are 19x9.5 et17 front w/ 235/35, 19x11 et17 rear w/ 275/30. I still need to play with the settings on the V3's.
Feels great though, rides nice, handles well. Up next will be painted bumper markers, a front splitter, and an RPI exhaust if I can find one.

Enjoy the photos,

Thatcher

Stretched sidewalls and rubber band tires are not doing the Z4 any favors, IMO.

How did you learn how to work on your cars on your own?
Did you take any courses? That's some cool stuff i'd like to learn, work on suspensions and stuff.

They remind me of one of my favorites- Hamman PG1s.

It is definitely a fun skill. I have worked on all my cars self-taught.

I started with a jack, tool set, and a manual from the publisher Bentley. Good manuals will tell you every tool you need, every part, the torque specs for every bolt, etc... I also used DIY threads from enthusiast forums.

Once you know your way around your car it really is not too complicated... just keep track of your bolts

Congratulations on the Z4m! The wheels offset is pretty aggressive so surprised that they fit!

Looks great ! Love the stance on the Z4. Although Aero side skirts would complete the aggressive side profile. I had them on my Z4 and they looked great.

Also, I am thinking about ordering a KW V3 for my Z3M too, how do you like them ? Stiff, soft, etc. ?

Thanks.

Can.

It's also surpisingly gorgeous to me, very aggressive!
