IND installs ESS’ prototype E70/71 X6M/X5M software!

When Roman from ESS Tuning contacted us to test their latest prototype software, we knew we had the perfect car to do it with. The owner of this car takes pride in having the latest and greatest on every M car he builds, and he’s had one of the most extensive M car collections I have ever encountered.

We knew that as a long time M enthusiast, our client would want nothing but the best, and ESS fits the bill perfectly. Many BMW tuners who are encountering forced induction technology for their first time with BMW’s new FI motors are simply dialing as much boost as possible from the motors for the highest possible gain, and although this yields some incredible numbers, this method is not safe in the long term. ESS are no strangers to forced induction, and this is evident in the safety margins seen in their performance software.

Even with ESS’ conservative prototype tune, the monstrous X6M will gain 60hp from software alone! Although we did not have a chance to dyno the car, the gains are evident. The already fearsome acceleration of the car is turned up several more notches, and the car progresses at an absolutely terrifying pace!

The flash loader comes with the kit from ESS. Perfect for customers so they can install the tune at home without shipping the ECU out.

Awesome, now your client has Cayenne Turbo S power!

Does the software adjust rev limiter/shift points at all, or is it strictly an engine tune?
