Picked up an M6
Been thinking about upgrading to an S85 powered M for a while. After test driving a couple of cars, my local dealer offered me an '07 Silverstone over black M6 with 30k miles, CPO and full BMW maintenance to match the CPO. Picked it up yesterday, so far it is a great car. Very different than my E92 M3 and of course the my E39 M5. The sound puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Sure is thirsty though. Probably gonna keep the mods simple on this one. Here are a few pics.

Thanks guys. The M3 was by far the most connected and best handling one in the group. The engine and gearbox felt great. The DCT is very well suited to the S65. The E39 M5 is one that I wish I could have owned from new. The torque is great and the car feels lighter than it is. The top end isn't anything like the S65 or S85, but the torque makes up for it. Even at 8 years old, it's still a very capable performer and a fun car to drive. As for the M6, I' don't have too much seat time yet, but I am loving it so far. You can definitely feel the weight, and the acceleration doesn't feel as urgent as the M3, that is until you hit 5k rpm. This thing is a rocket in its power band. Very comfortable for around town driving too. Each one has a different character so it really just depends on what you are looking for.

Congrats! Fast SOB, as you said, when in the powerband. Low end torque is pathetic though. And the MOST irritating thing about them is they drink like a fish. I averaged 11-12 mpg and bested 18-19 with steady highway cruising. Trip to the gas station every 3 days....very annoying.
Unless you're getting a stroker, turbos, or a supercharger, don't waste your money on 'power mods'. I dumped a lot of cash to gain 50-60 whp. Get Eisenmann Race mufflers and call it a day
