Please educate me on a B7 Alpina sedan! pros and cons

Hey guys, I'm trying to learn more about the B7 Alpina. (2007 or 2008 model). Anyone here own one or know a lot about them?

I've wanted a V10 M5 for a while but I'd like something a little bigger.

I'd love to hear about reliability, maintenance, performance, and overall impressions of the car.

Thanks in advance guys! I know I haven't been on TS much lately but I still hear about all the shenanigans via email and I'll be back once I can catch my breath with work and family.

I forget the colour name, but the blue B7's are gorgeous.

Drove one for a short stint. Felt like a pumped up 750i. First class feel, sound, and grunt. Plus, they look cool. They've taken a big hit, definitely a great buy.

^Yep, 2008 B7's that were $125k can be scooped up for about 1/2 price. I think it's a great buy for a 500HP car in a luxury car's clothing.

You should stick with a V10 engine to replace the Superleggera you just sold! They could also be scooped up for less than 60k plus you have been dreaming about it for the last 4 months. BTW, congrats on selling your Superleggera at a great price! Perhaps maybe even a Panamera turbo or 4S so it would be safer in the snow than the Alpina. Good luck with your hunt!

Rarer than a M5 that's for sure!
M5 can do everything this car can (carrying 5 ppl), and the M5 would be funner to drive.
I'd go M5.

Having owned an E60 M5 and having spent several thousand miles driving an Alpina B7, I can say that the B7 was by far the superior car.

Unless you're going to be spending time on the track, the B7 performed just as well (although in a totally different way), rode MUCH better, was much more unique than the M5 (I only saw one other B7 on the road, ever), provided more room and luxury, and I thought it was a better looking vehicle than the E60 M5. And I'm only 30 years old!

The only way I see an M5 being better is if you want a high-revving, abeit very jerky car (I hate SMG with a passion now).

Me on the track in the M5:

And the Alpina B7 that I spent considerable time in:
