Buying an M3; question.

Hi all,

A little question:

Would it be possible to buy something like a new M3 sedan in a BMW dealership in the US,
let it be made in Germany and then pick it up in Germany?
It would be paid in Dollars, so this seems like a good deal.

Please let me know if you know more of this than me !

Well, I suppose you could have a friend in the US order it and then do the Euro delivery thing, but I am sensing that you are trying to find a way to screw with the system so that you can pay half the price (USD vs. EUR) for an M3 - and it's genius!!

Yeah, I don't see why that wouldn't work. Send Jamie a PM. He's been buying cars like crazy lately and I'm sure he'd be happy to order an M3 on your behalf since he's been on such a roll.

euro delivery cars are picked up in europe but they are to be returned in europe and shippe back to US. not sure if you can keep it in europe and title it. i am sure it cant be that easy or else there must be a flood of gray market in europe.

you`d get a US spec car which you aren`t allowed to drive over here without modifications to meet EU regulations
the next thing is that you`d have to be pay your consumer tax and import tax, since it would be something like a re-import
and as said before, normally euro delivery cars are shipped back to the states after a max of 28 days for you to drive in Germany with time restricted number plates

Yes, it's too much hassle, but it was worth informing for.
