I'm thinking M5 as a daily driver and then like a 430 spyder or LP560 spyder as a weekend car. Seems to be a ton of M5s for sale on autotrader with less than 10K miles for under $65K. I'd perhaps do a lease trader deal but would want one for around 24 months so I can dump the car when the 2011 M5 comes out.

BTW, I am 5'3", below the waist.

People make up all kinds of stuff when advertising their cars for sale.

That would be a nice combination. You're going SMG right? Although I really like a conventional manual, the 6-speed (eventually) offered in the M5 seemed like an afterthought.

That's b/c it was, my pops has got one and despite the fact that its a great car, the gearbox doesn't really feel like it should be there.

Well, the seat in my Mercedes is probably 1/4" from being all the way back, and the Lexus is very long for being a coupe so I have no problem in that or MKIV supras...

I've sat in my freind's E60 5-series and had the same problem with fit there too.

Yep, noticed it the first time I drove one. Although a little clunky at lower speeds, the SMG unit does work well.

Didn't seem, Travis it was - from it's inception it was designed to only have the SMG, IIRC after they saw a demand for the manual gear box only then did they bother.

Probably getting manual. I'll try out SMG. But I keep on reading that it's total crap. Who here has driven one?

I drove an E46 M3 with SMG and it really wasn't that bad at all... Much more fun than a 6-speed G35 coupe. Probably similar with the M5?

Thoughts on color? I actually like the white . . . even though that's usually a gay man's car color.
