M Driving experience report
I went to the one day M driving experience yesterday in Spartanburg SC. It was a lot of fun! It started with an hour of classroom time to go over some basic techniques.
We then got into 2 groups of 3-4 cars each.
Started on an M6 for hard braking exercises (got to stomp those brakes from 55 mph in a turn). Then drove an M3 on a short track with slalom exercises for an hour, competing against other cars for best time.
We then took M5s with an instructor on a skid pad, did understeers and oversteers with and mostly without DSC.
After lunch, we rat-raced M6s on an oval skid pad . 2 cars per race, starting on either side of the oval, with DSC off, trying to catch the other one. That was incredible fun! Then back to M3s for more driving on the track.
The cars were equipped with cameras, and we'll be getting a DVD in a few weeks showing some driving skills (or lack thereof...)
At the end of the day, we went on the track with instructors in M5s, and they got to show us how the pros do it. Man, what a difference! Tires squealing and howling all the way, amazing control of the cars at high speed, it was an incredible experience.
I highly recommend it!

Yes, definately please. I´m thinking of doing the same thing over here on the Nordschleife (Nürburgring Northloop) for a weekend. It´s far more expensive here but for 2 days & accom. I suppose it´s also worth it.

There is a 2 day course here as well, that goes for around $2500.
