I think this is the best mod for this engine.
HIGH PERFORMANCE 5.7 LITER V-10 ENGINE
For those seeking the ultimate high performance driving experience, Dinan has once again redefined M5 and M6 performance with a bored and stroked 5.7 liter version of BMW’s V-10 engine. The engine produces over 600 horsepower along with stump-pulling torque that exceeds 400 lb-ft from just 3000 rpm right to the rev-limit at 8100 rpm. As incredible as BMW’s V-10 is in stock form, just imagine the acceleration that results from an additional 126 horsepower @ 5800 rpm and 116 lb-ft torque @ 5600 rpm*! Equally impressive is the fact that all of this performance is available without sacrificing BMW-like drivability or the peace of mind that comes from matching new car warranty coverage for up to 4 years or 50,000 miles.
Dinan’s 29 years of BMW tuning and racing experience ensure that the engines will not only perform but also provide years of trouble free driving excitement. Much of the technology that has made Dinan’s Grand-Am Daytona Prototype engines both competitive and reliable has carried over to the 5.7 Liter V-10 engine program for the street, ensuring that the engines produce incredible power along with race-proven durability. Each engine is dyno-tested prior to shipment, verifying power output in the same rigorous manner employed for the Daytona Prototype racing engines.
The engine is supplied as an assembled long-block, fully prepared to directly replace the stock engine without modification. Maximum performance is achieved when the engine is equipped with the optional High Flow Air Mass Meter Assemblies, High Flow Throttle Bodies and Free Flow Mufflers, producing an incredible 611 hp @ 7500 rpm and 468 lb-ft torque @ 6000 rpm. For those seeking ultimate performance from their M5 or M6, without sacrificing civility, reliability or warranty coverage, the Dinan 5.7 Liter V-10 is the definitive solution.
Features and Specifications:

Gentlemen it certainly does not come out to be $40K.
When you're done it will be over $50K.
It is a great motor but rather overpriced. We still do not have any performance results but they will be coming very soon with the ML&E mag article.
There will also be a couple private owners who will post their results once they break-in their motors.
Should be interesting.

looks like a nice upgrade for those who want all motor or are in love with their m6.
i would prob take a used sl55 and some bolt on's before that. its 628 flywheel hp...for 50k im sure you can easily get that for less elsewhere. for 40 or 50k they might as well send the car to heffner for a twin turbo kit
he does everything else v10, why not a bmw!?

I agree with the comments regarding the costs and results. This will be a well built motor but the $$,$$$ spent do not make this a killer performance car.
Many of you may not know about the up coming ASR Engineering product.
This will be a fully built, blueprint / balanced V10 TT motor for the E60 M5.
Power output will outrageous. There will nonbelievers but that will allright.
The comment about the Heffner mod, well that's just a TT kit not a full motor rebuild and it is astronaumic dollars.

absolutely gt3ranger. i know his kits are good 60 grand. but if your going to spent anywhere near that wouldn't you give under ground or heff a call?
i didnt know about that asr kit, but man a built and tt v10...would be incredible. me personally i do not expect most bmw's to be that fast, so one of those would surprise the bajeezus out of me!
