TSM WINS NARRA @ Road Atlanta **VIDEO & PICTURES**

This weekend we had a customer from Canada flying in to pick up his freshly modded track GT-R. The car was lightly modded here at TSM then together with Leh Keen we added a profesional setup to really dial in the parts we had installed.

After pickup the customer invited us out to do some coaching and run with him @ NARRA this weekend. I have never done a NARRA event so I decided it would be a good opportunity to get some track time and coach a customer that had never been to Road Atlanta. Last min we loaded up the track car and drove the 45 min up to the track.

I have to say I was very very impressed with the team at NARRA. If you are a track guy I would definitely check it out. There are great contingency prizes and awesome competition. Also a great group of guys that really just enjoy racing! The vibe in the paddock was great and the whole team of managers were just nice and easy to deal with.

I spent the whole day Friday coaching so I didn't run the car at all. Saturday came around and unfortunately we were plagued with a small ABS issue that kept freaking out the car. I don't know if any of you have tried to narrow down an ABS issue without a factory computer, but it isn't fun. Thanks to my trackside support we were able to put our heads together and diagnos the issue. A pesky sensor relay that was hidden in the fender was the culprit. We had the part brought up from the shop and the car was ready to roll for Sunday's main event!

Sunday afternoon called for rain so we knew we were going to have to lay down a time early in order to win. We were competing in the NARRA TTU class so the competition was very fast, and had already had two days of practice on us! The first session of the day was at 9AM, the track conditions weren't perfect but they were close. 65 Degrees and slightly overcast.

For those of you who have never run a TT, the next challenge is finding an open lap. Keep in mind this is a TT competition, so you have to go out and lay down a blazingly fast hotlap in order to be competitive. However there are people on the track running 30-40 seconds slower than the fast cars and then everything in between. So finding open track can be as challenging as actually driving. After coming through the pits to try to find a gap I was able to slow down to 35mph on the back straight and open up enough room to catch a flyer!

Luckily I was able to stitch together a decent lap since I only got one! I missed my mark in two turns which upset me but I just focused on picking it up in other places. The car was working so well I just felt like I could tell it where to go and it went! She never fought me a bit.

Crossing the start finish I looked down at the Traqmate and was honestly shocked! 1:25 FLAT!!! What a rush! Running a 25 at Road Atlanta is honestly a huge personal accomplishment for me. That bested my previous time by over 2 full seconds!

I'm very excited to get back out there and work on my lines a little more. Watching the video I can find small mistakes that make me mad, now all I can think about is going to fix them

However for now, I couldn't be happier with the results from the weekend. Not only did we win the TTU class, our customer who entered the TT2 class also won the overall in his GT-R, running an amazing 1:30.7 in a bone stock 2012 with JRZs and a TSM setup by Leh! Not to mention it was his very first time at Road Atlanta! Seriously impressive!

Here are some pictures of the weekend as well as a fun video of the 1:25 winning lap! Enjoy guys.
