VIDEO: Lexus LFA Roadster
The LFA Roadster makes a very surprising debut at the D1GP Kick Off

Despite a previous report from Car magazine that Toyota had decided to cancel development of the LFA Roadster due to the turbulent market conditions, a convertible version of the LFA supercar made it's debut today at the D1GP Kick Off Drift event outside the Makuhari Messe convention center. See the LFA burn some life out of its tires in the video below 48 seconds in. Enjoy!

Looks good other than that nasty roll hoop. The car is gorgeous, why ruin it with a roll bar from a mid-90's VW Cabrio?

Actually, about that roll hoop, it kind of looks like it may retract. I sure as hell hope so. It was probably fixed in the up position given their activities. Haven't watched the video yet, so correct me if I'm wrong.

nice suprise!

but those turbos spooling up got me way more excited than the LFA

Anybody know where this LFA came from? I haven't heard of anyone doing roof removals on them, yet I'd be really surprised if this was how Lexus snuck it onto the world stage...
