Wingless GT-R?

Hello folks!

I looked almost everywhere for an answer to this question but couldn't find a straight one :/ for all you GT-R experts out there:

What exactly is the penalty for removing the wing of a 2009~2012 GT-R, and how big does it affect the ride from a daily driver's perspective?

I know that Nissan spent almost 2 years working on the current aerodynamics model for this monster, but ever since I saw many wingless "tuned" GT-R's (especially 2009's) I became extremely interested in how it actually looks! I still haven't got my GT-R yet and I'm not planning to tune it, but I expect not to exceed a max speed of 200 km/h (124 mph) as a casual driver... Hopefully ;p

Thank you in advance for your attention to my post guys. Peace!

The aero jabbering is largely marketing. The car does not generate a significant amount of downforce. You can lose the wing without sacrificing much stability, and reducing drag quite a bit.

If you're concerned with (very) high speed stability, run a more aggressive diffuser with longer strakes and you'll be good.

Note that removing the wing sucks quite a lot. There's quite a bit of adhesive under the three mount points that must be removed carefully before it'll release. Also, you will need to modify the trunk release wiring harness slightly to delete the brake light in the wing.

Hey Simba!

Here's a wingless GT-R from VOD CARS with a custom diffuser, are these strakes sufficient? Everyone feel free to discuss

Looks so much better, not like a ricer anymore but actually like a car you could drive without looking like a 18yo.

Thank you all for your input!

Here's a few more photos of wingless GT-R's from AMS Performance and Speed Hunters. Enjoy!
