The car makes sense at half the price because the performance numbers match those of cars that cost around that, at least straight-line figures. Legitimate track times are yet to be seen, which is where the focus is at. However, the numbers don't tell you a lick on what it's like to drive or what the driver experiences behind the wheel or about its construction. Everyone likes to compare the numbers to price and every car is more than just that. I agree with your second paragraph and wished Lexus would make it more accessible to the average supercar buyer.

And for the record i don't understand all the hate for this car, i think its an outstanding package, albeit priced on the high side.

The "its a lexus" arguments are of no value at all.

 

It would be a great car if it had a dual-clutch transmission and was priced competitively.
