Need advice on a IS 300

I have been looking at buying a Lexus IS 300 as a DD. And want to know if any of you have had one, what did you think of it? Anything I should look at when buying one? Any info would be nice.

Why an IS? What's your budget?

My budget is at $15K. For this amount I see the IS as a pretty nice car. Decent interior. Very reliable. And just over all a nice car IMO.

You want something sporty, or more cruiser luxury? Just a DD - point A to B? Auto/Manual?

I would recommend a WRX in that price range, I would assume you want something reliable, but out of warranty...

Here's something I found with a quick search - Cars for Sale: 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX Sedan in HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA 92648: Sedan Details - 287528255 - AutoTrader.com

I would like a Manuel, but would settle for an auto if the cars suits the needs.

I like the WRX, but I would not trust myself with one.

I want this:
Reliable.
When something goes wrong it doesn't cost a lot to fix.
It can at at the least get out of it's own way.
And a decent interior.

Why wouldnt you trust yourself with one?? I owned a Stage 2 05 WRX, with full suspension - it was a blast in the canyons, and was very reliable (drove it 40k miles with the stage 2 setup) Parts are also cheap, and there are alot of parts available... The only reason I didnt upgrade to an STI is because of work - couldnt be the boy ricer pulling up to meet clients. Loved that car though...

From what I remember hearing about the IS300, is that the power was poor, trans wasnt the greatest, but other than that was a pretty descent car. I'm sure Stoppie will tell you its a Re-badged Corolla

I'll keep an eye out of something in your range that might fit the bill.

I wouldn't trust myself with one because being 18 I have yet to learn when to say, I don't need to race this guy.

Yeah, I know it is a jazzed up toyo, but hey I don't mind. Just not being able to daily the 911 is killing me, and the cost that are following the purchase of it.

Well this quote right here should be enough...

But hey I guess you know yourself, and your limits. But when I pull up next to you in your IS300, tell me you wont want to race

From my experience don't get into a car that you dont enjoy/want to drive - it just sucks.
