Damn, this car is seriously making me hold off on my S5 purchase. I have a fast track car already, but something about having such a fast daily driver makes my knees weak...however, I can't get past the looks of the Audi, it's like being in love with that thing.

That's a tough call. I've been hearing it's tough to get your hands on an S5, same with the GT-R (if you don't want to pay a markup over MSRP). I also considered an S5, but I thought this would be a more exclusive car. What do you use for your track car? Good luck and keep us posted on your decision.

Thanks for the vids, D. I love the woosh!

Why don't manufacturers that put flappy paddles in their cars mount them on the steering wheel (a la BMW) instead of just on the column?

Watching these vids, it's clear that he was slower due to having to drop his hand off the wheel to shift.

For track use, I have my turbo S2000 to keep me occupied. I need a car to drive to work in comfort, go out on dates, etc etc....basically, a pimpmobile. As much as I love the GTR, I think the S5 fits that bill a bit better.

I hear ya, the perceived value of an Audi, BMW, Porsche, etc. is much greater than that of a Nissan, even if it's the GT-R. It would be nice to have both, wouldn't it?

Honestly, I could care less about the badge. I do however, care about the car being a nice place to be, and Audi, IMHO is in a league of their own. I would gladly sit in traffic in an S5. However, I can't comment on the GTR anything since I've never sat inside it, let alone drive it. I think I will hold off for a few more months and finalize my decision.
