Smart ForTwo rival from Scion

2011 Scion iQ: The World's Smallest 4-Seat Car
Scion launched a new vehicle recently the New York Auto Show, giving Toyota more arrows in its small-car quiver as it attempts to hold onto its theoretical title of America's greenest carmaker. The tiny little city car is positioned as a premium micro-subcompact for "new urbanites." It's bigger than the famous Smart ForTwo, but it also adds an extra 2 seats. Will it work here?

Give it about 50mpg minimum and a reasonable price tag (sub 15k new) and something like this would sell very well.

I would pick up a used one for about 10-12k if I was going to get 50mpg. I drive about 25-30k miles a year for work

Toyota IQ as its called in Eurore has been sold for a while now and while it has it's own segment I wouldn't say its a direct competitor for a Smart ForTwo.

I saw the toyota sibling on top gear. I would take that over a smart, but that is not saying much.

carbonSSG is an unknown quantity at this point
I'm twisted, but i'd swap a 1300 motorcycle engine into that baby to start, then turbocharge it and redefine "pocket rocket"
