^^ Agreed. I can only see this thing being a "just because I can" type of car... not something I would want as a first or 5th exotic car.

"Sold out" and Sold I think 2 different meanings. The article says they have received down payments for all 500. The lease constitutes a "sale" in this case. One would have to pay sales tax on the "sale amount" in this case the full $300k that the lease requires up front. IMO.
