For those interested in after market upgrades, here's a good article from Lexus Magazine about David Huang's 1,000 HP Lexus IS 300. He spent over $100,000 fixing up and adding parts to the car. More photos and descriptions in the article.

Things i noticed, in order.

1. Of course the owner of a 1000hp Lexus is Asian
2. That much hp would probably shred those lopros.

Maybe he changed the transmission as I see he has paddles, and I don't think those IS's came with a tiptronic auto?

yzracer931 has a reputation beyond repute

They did come with the tiptronic trans, however I believe they were push button. You can buy a kit to change it to paddles.

This car most probably doesnt have its original transmission.

I will guarantee that the car doesn't retain its original transmission. I was responding to the post above mine. They did originally offer the tiptronic transmission though. I replaced the stock auto in my supra with a th400 to hold the hp.
