Oh man- you and Jeremy Clarkson need to start a support group.

I doubt they will, but will really miss the car even though it did get a little long in the tooth the last couple years.

I have owned and tracked numerous S2000s, there are not many cars in its price point that offer what this car can. The S2000 will have its place in history.

FWIW, the AP2 of 2004-2005 was GREAT and definitely not fu<ked up. I had an AP1 (2001) and an AP2 (2004) and the AP2 was a much better car all around. Better interior, better wheels, better handling, a little bit more torque...

Whether Honda makes one again or not, I'll still have a space in my dream garage for another Silverstone/Red AP2.

With Honda CEO Takanobu Ito talking like this, the future looks a little bleak.

Specifically:
When asked if there would be other sporty models coming forth to replace "accessible" sports models such as the Integra/RSX and S2000, the response from Ito-san was that the CR-Z would be the answer to that question and there were "no other plans for the time being, but yes I would like to be able to consider such possibilities".

Probably not. I think they are more focused on fuel efficient cars more than ever now. I don't see them focusing on performance orienter cars anytime soon.

I love first models of s2k(ap1) i had a chance to drive a few of them and it was a really great experience. Handling on a track was very impressive, i could easily keep up with the guys with much faster cars. I wish honda could come up with a new s2k but i'm affraid it wouldn't be a car with a same sport heart and spirit as the old one.

I currently have an 04 S2K, and I love the AP2 design. To me it is a perfect mix of daily driver/track day toy, and I hope that Honda makes another car like it in the future. Even if the focus is on fuel efficient little town cars, I think that having a car to showcase your technological prowess like the S2K and NSX did is good for any car company.
