A VERY Custom GT2 RSR

Guys
I just returned from Long Beach today and we discussed many body finish details. Looks like the car will be in primer in 6 weeks. I will post progress pics at that time.
One very interesting change that we are studying is the installation of a large intercooler just under the rear glass. We would build an air chase just under the roof of the car (not on top like some of the DP cars) and then actually take the air in thru a rectangular hole in the front glass and also install a very discrete carbon hood extension off the glass to help pick-up the air. If we pull this off, I think it will be the coolest and most efficient intercooler set-up that I have seen. Intercooler surface area could increase by 40% over the stock intercoolers and then we can also get more cooling thru increased thickness. I will keep everyone posted.

Would that be a loud setup?

VERY GOOD POINT. That and properly sealing the intake at the glass line are the significant concerns. The idea is to build a sound insulated bulkhead between the intercooler compartment and the driver/passenger area. We are trying to figure out how to use a carbon "sandwich" panel to build the bulkhead. It will certainly be light if we can. If we pull it off, then we will install a rear camera and small LCD screen for viewing puposes. I think that is how the RUF CTR3 handles the situation.
Unfortunately, or fortunately?, I think I am WAY beyond a "touring car"!! Between the Burns lightweight "mufflers" and the RSR electric steering, I think the sound issue is already exceeded!!
