For most people the 997 is still the best looking 911, the fact that the 991 GT3 will never have a manual has caused the demand for 997 to go up. A lot of people brought them a few months ago and are keeping them thinking the value will go up as it's going to be the last generation with a proper transmission.

Glad to see I'm not the only one noticing this. I've been looking for the last couple of weeks at 2010+ GT3/Turbo and noticed that prices are actually up from where they a year ago. This is disappointing as I will finally be in a position to buy this spring.

I'm not prepared to spend the dollars to buy new and don't want to settle for a lesser model so I'll likely explore different options until the 991 GT3's are a couple years old and hit the resale market.

I've noticed that nearly mint ZR1s can be easily had in the 80-90k range and there's no shortage of them available, so that's where I'm currently leaning. Obviously not in the same league as a Porsche but this car is simply a toy/weekend car for me so fun factor for your dollar is unbeatable in a ZR1 as far as I'm concerned.

The cars are a joy to drive and were made in limited numbers, especially the gt3 rs. If you've ever driven the gt3 rs you will know why the prices are going up. There are a lot of cars out there that can go faster, but at some point its not all about speed. Its about the total package and the visceral experience. And with interest rates being at an all time low, it doesn't seem the prices will come down anytime soon.
