Peter,
There aren't many local hotels. Local being very close. There are some in Austin, but they are about 10 miles away. Do a search. Try and stay on the South Side via the toll road (130) and be as close as possible. Austin traffic rivals LA all day long. But do make a trip to 6th Street for some fun.

Great choice Peter. You did good. I would do this, but I'm doing a test there with Grand Am guys and I did the Pirelli event at F1. You will LOVE that track. Intense.

You are close to The Salt Lick BBQ place. You gotta go. Classic Texas BBQ.

I drove the track a couple weeks ago with a CTSV event. It was very fun.

The place you're staying isn't near anything. Buda is very small. I hope you're not planning on doing much other than the rack because its about a 20 minute drive to both the track and downtown Austin.

Hyatt at the airport is pretty close to the track. However, I agree that you might as well stay in town.

Oh, and sucks that its in the middle of the week.
