By the looks of it, it is as fast as, looks the same, and sounds the same as the other. Are you saying this could possibly be a GT3 RS testing with the Cup Car? If so what a sound!

No. Have a look at the wing height. The car with the lights on has a lower wing, a different front and is wider.

It's a sequential box. Not PDK.

Let's hope it's actually competitive.

Yeah, it's been a rough few years for Porsche fans of sports car racing, but the basic car is from the last millennium (!) so the new one should move things on a lot.

Hi Guest,

Well - yes and no. Lot of people always complain that the 997 GT3RSR etc is not competitive because of its wheelbase..ah - really? The 458 has wider and longer wheelbase..but what has it achieved this year? not considerably more than the 997..and in fact the 997 RSR was sometimes even quicker then a 458. Not the wheelbase counsts but the overally package..in F1 the car with the longest wheelbase is necessarily not the quicksest..

The main problem I see with the air restrictors..and for that it doenst really matter whether its 997 or 991. The real question is: all other things being more or less equal - how much can be gained just by the chassis..

I think that difference will be much smaller then most people would think...I really hope Porsche can turn things around..I dont even want to think of the possibility that a 991 RSR or whatever would be there for one year and still wouldnt be able to pass R8 etc..what then?

Then Porsche will really be screwed--history shows that they were always more or less able to turn the page...but the world has changed - and one thing is clear - 20 years ago there was much less politics in the regulations..in fact this is the only danger for the 997 and 991.

Lets hope...
