Have to agree with that. The 993 TurboS and GT2 guys seem to have unrealistic expectations generally about the value of their cars. Let's not forget that these cars were like $100-$130K new 10 yrs ago. I've seen guys asking $225K for low mile 993 TurboS. $335K for a 993 GT2 is just rediculous. There are much more rare Porsches (e.g., Flachbau 964TT, 19 made compared to 183 993 TurboS and ~80 993 GT2s) that sell for much less ($150K). I would think a fair price for a low mile 993 TurboS would be about $125-140K and $175K for the 993 GT2. Only a fool would pay $335K. For that, I can have a brand spanking new RT12.

^"Last of the air-cooled" hoopla inflates many a 993 owners ego and asking price.

Nice car and values will ultimately climb to $1/2 million IMHO similar to how the '73 Carrera RS has, but the 993 GT2 is overvalued and somewhat over-appreciated these days. Still a fantastic car and one of my all-time favorites.

homologation, racing pedigree and rarity of 993 gt2 makes for a pretty compelling argument for classic status. last of aircooled is important to mayn porsche fans (Not I). I have more difficulty in understanding turbo s prices as the only appreciable difference to 993tt is the rarity.

Once it is accepted that a premium should be paid for these cars over the new price it immediately gets speculators interested and the market moves from there. whether a 993gt2 should be 150$ or 300$ is anybody's guess.

clearly the 997 gt2 is a better car in every respect of the word, but people still pay premium for classic cars despite their modern equivalents being, better, faster, more reliable and cheaper.
