Great write up from Greg on Rlist:
"I just had my ccw14s installed with nitto's. 245/315.
I ran them for 3 days and roval and now again this last Sunday 6/1 at BW with SpeedVentures. I like speedventures because they can do timing, which is important to me because I like to watch my progress.
Before I put on the nitto's I was doing 2:11.9 on tired MPSC's After putting on the nitto's, on my very last lap of the day. I did a 2:06.3 and felt like I could easily get another 2 seconds or so.
I was dealing with a lot of traffic and speedventures is running way to short sessions of 15 minutes. There are _5_ run groups now and way to many people who are driving over there heads. We also had people running 2:22 in our group. Our group was one group down from full racing and should be the 'experts but no passing in the corners group'
Anyway, it is really frustrating to have very few clean laps and very few laps in general.
As the day wore on, people left and the track thinned out.
Here is a video from a modified vette who I helped shave 2 seconds off his time by being his 'bunny' In the lap after his camera goes dark, I set my 2:06.3
This was my 15th to 20th heat cycles on my nitto's and they were just epic.
My MPSC's felt super greasy, and the nittos just kept giving me more.
I cannot give higher marks to the Nitto's
My TPMS is WAY OFF on the nitto's. TPMS will register 30 lbs and its actually 37.. SO ANNOYING. For my MPSC's it was much more accurate.
I also like the progressive sound increase as you get closer to the limit of grip with the Nitto's. This is great for me.
I also had a 996 gt3 euro seat installed. Super easy to do and was fun. Thanks to Osamah (fellow Rennlister) for selling it to me.
The seat was great as I just dont slide around nearly as much and I can feel the car so much better. I love that seat.
Anyway, I need to get traqmate and a better running club as speedventures is having too many issues with unskilled drives and people let into run groups above their skill level.
