Thank you everyone for your kind words. That is indeed an S5. Fantastic DD BTW.
I love the new GT2. It is a phenomenal car. Very fast, very smooth and extremely well balanced. It'll probably even keep up with the CGT. But believe me, as an unbiased Porsche lover, there is ABSOLUTELY nothing that I have driven to date, that feels, sounds or makes me smile as big as the Carrera GT. I guess that's why I have 15,000 miles on it.
In terms of speed, I have not ran them side by side yet, but my guess is that from a roll, the CGT would open up a few car lengths on the GT2 just because of its normally aspirated quicker throttle response and then hold the gap as the GT2 spools up and spreads its wings.
An even better question though, is how does the GT2 and RS compare. Surprisingly, when I picked up the GT2, I felt that it was just like the RS just a whole lot faster. But after driving them back to back, you can clearly feel how much more racy the RS feels. It's stiffer, louder, and for some reason feels a lot lighter than the 40lbs suggested by Porsche. I guess that's why they are all staying.
I hope to do an actual run between the GT2 and Carrera GT soon and I will post the results.
Best,
Amir
