Photoshoot: 997.2 GT3 RS & Scuderia
#13
I honestly didn't like the red bits on this car because it was a bit too much. Red, yellow and blue together. Maybe if the calipers were a different color like red also then it'd have worked but the owner also agreed too. The wheels are now a very dark shade of grey matching that of the CF trim pieces. It's a stunning look in person and definitely turned heads everywhere I went! I took a video a while back when we swapped cars and went for a quick drive.
These cars could not possibly be more different than one another. The Scuderia actually feels a bit more lazy compared to the GT3RS which in stark contrast feels like a live wire just waiting to pounce given the slightest chance. Mark said it best, the GT3RS makes it "more fun" to drive because your'e in control whereas in the Scuderia, it almost feels like it's the one in control. There's not as much road feel in the Scud compared to the GT3RS. But there's a couple departments where the Scud has the GT3RS beat by a mile and that's the shifting action as well as the sound it generates. I still get goosebumps every time I hear the exhaust go, roooooaaawrrrrrrr especially through a tunnel reverbating off the walls. And the lightning quick upshifts, BANG BANG BANG! You just can't replicate that....I'm like every time that happens.
Also, the way the car responds to your slightest inputs is much quicker in the GT3RS compared to the Scud. Almost telepathic by nature. I've mentioned that several times and that's because it's unbashingly true.
Did I use too many descriptive words here? I think I had the thesaurus open when I typed this up.
Bottom line is, I wouldn't turn down either one. I love my Scuderia and would never let her go but I find myself sorely tempted by the evil blue beast. It's the same color as my favorite toy, the 997TT.
And yes, if you guys ask nicely, I'll share the video too.
