Door Opener Leather Part Number
Hi Team Speeders,
I was looking at the new option Porsche offers which is "Door opener leather" which can be ordered with deviating stitching.
I sent an email to Porsche Exclusive asking if I can have a part number or the vin# of the demo car so I can order it through my dealer... They said no. You only get it by ordering a new car. WTF!!!
This is how exactly I want it (image taken from Porsche website)
Any advice?

There's a way to get it, but it'd be hard. I managed to get the leather dome light cover and gear shift trim piece by finding someone who had a car with this option and getting their VIN. I then used this VIN to order these parts. So, you'd probably have to post a message hoping that someone who ordered this exact option in the exact scheme you want to give you his/her VIN. A long shot really. I have no idea why Porsche does that.

I did the same with the GT2RS red alcantara shifter, got the vin and ordered it..
the issues with this one are:
-This option is new, how many will order it considering the end life cycle of the current 911
-whom from the above many will have it in guards red stitching?!!

Funny this comes up now. I just insatlled a set of these on my car that I ordered thru Frank at exclusiveoptions.com.
they are absolutely beautiful and are IDENTICAl to the factory leather and stitching. I already had leather door finishers on the car and this really completes the look.
I also ordered the entire PCM section in leather and should receive it by week's end. i've tried ordering this in the past and the price was staggering = not to mention needing a VIN of a car that already had the option.
The communication with exclusiveoption was great - every email was answered in a timely manner and i've been kept up to date on how my order is progressing.
couldn't be happier with my transaction and would recommend them highly
oh, one more thing. he also offers all of the porsche deviated stitching. mine was the std. charcoal color.
