TPC Racing takes on Lime Rock
After missing the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge race in Montreal, TPC Racing is back in the field this weekend at Lime Rock.
Since ALMS and the Cooper Tire Series cars are all running and Lime Rock does not allow cars on track on Sunday, the track time available is very limited. The tractor trailer got to the track yesterday and we unloaded this morning. Right when we unloaded, the car went straight to the setup pad. We did not have track time today so we spend all day working on the setup of the car and also in tech.
We have one practice session tomorrow morning at 10:35am and then qualifying at 5:25pm which does not give us much time. Mike has not driven on this track since the mid 90's but we walked the track yesterday and he is saying that he feels very good.
With breaks between sessions an our two races on Saturday, I'll try to have some updates and pictures posted and you can also follow along with live timing and scoring at Live Timing — IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohoma

Sorry for the delay in the updates. There is no internet available at the track and there is also no cell service. We ran practice in the rain today, the first time that Mike has driven a 997 Cup Car in the rain and also has driven Lime Rock in the rain. In the first session he did not get to turn many laps, but in qualifying, Mike turned some very fast times! He was running in P2 for a bit and then went to cool down the rain tires and then do a fast lap. As he went to do a fast lap, he got hit in the right quarter panel.
The damage was not bad, but the rim bent in toward the tire and the quarter panel needed to be knocked out which would take too much time to repair.
We ended up P4 which is not bad, but we will string up the car in the morning and check to make sure the alignment is alright and get out there and race! Mike has a good car under him and we are working hard to run up front.
The first race tomorrow starts at 10:25am and the second race is at 5pm. Follow along on live timing at Live Timing — IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohoma

Dumb questions:
Car is an 09. What different classes are in that deal?
What do you think of the Yoko's for that IMSA series?
Stock exhaust or bypasses with flash?
I need to come play someday. I see on your link that my buddy Randy Trice is running. No lap times yet, but glad he's running.

Sorry for the delays. Harris and I will be putting together a release early next week. We really sorted the chassis. And it was great that mike really knew lime rock. We ended up on the podium for both races in 3rd. By the secod race we really had an awesome pace going buy we finished under caution so we were unable to grab any more places! We had a blast and are heading to Canada in a few more weeks!
