First time I've seen cupholders operate. Why put breaks in the carbon strip if the whole thing flips down?

I think to discourage people from ordering it?

Think about it, if there was no visible slit, most would just order it but surely it affects the weight and rigidity to some extent and so they rather you not.

^LOL. It keeps the leather from cracking during hard cornering.

And I suppose if you opt for the leather-chassis integration (this makes the leather a structural part of the car) this can make a slight difference in cornering?

the chrono wart on the dash is a must! gives the car 50/50 weight distribution thus improves handling by large margin,

You guys are missing the most important option. The smooth leather bit on the steering column is really important because if you are a real man, you would order this car without AC and therefore forced to drive the car with windows open - the drag coefficient reduction resulting from the reduced wind resistance over the steering column with smooth leather during windows down driving can make or break the red light launches in everyday driving
