perfection vs perfection
I'd go for the 4.0 because it's more emotional

I've been offered one of the first cars with June/July delivery.
I assume they will start production in June?

I would also choose the 4.0, but Mike if I was you I wouldn't sweat missing out on this, you have a car that's everybit as good just goes about doing it slightly differently, it's really a matter of preference. So it definetly wouldn't be a bad idea to wait a few years and go after maybe a 991 gt3, so it would truly be something brand new.

Screw it, you only live once. I put my name down as well. They will confirm local price and delivery end of next week. I hate Teamspeed.

Need to work on convincing misses on ditching the C2S in the interim

Mike, I guess for me it would depend on a couple of things. The 4.0 is certainly a better track machine by spades but the GT2 would be a better "driving" machine for the streets so it would all depend on what your priorities are. IMHO, in the long run the 4.0 would be much more collectible and hold its value far better than the GT2.
