918 Deposit Information

Id never buy one of those kit car things over a 918 or f70 .
Heritage , history and engineering integrity mean more to me than bling
Ill put my 918 up against any of them , bet it runs rings round them ( and wont break trying to kill me at the ring ) .

Joking, i dont think anyone here thinks that Paganis are kit cars and i also think a big part of people here would prefer a Pagani over a 900k Porsche, i respect the heritage and history but no, i prefer a Pagani over this.

Also, Paganis (and other high-end exotics) are produced in extremely low numbers. 918 units isn't really that exclusive.

I think the zonda R would beg to differ.

Questions 18 and 33 made me lol. They can tie up your money with no interest and then give it back to you if/whenever they decide it's going to cost too much to manufacture or if they don't get enough orders. Then lets say you are one of the first people to get your car, 500 cars later some new or advanced version of the hybrid drive system or some other components are updated/changed for the better. Guess who's footing the bill for the retrofit?
And by far the most asinine part of it all is that you have to put down a deposit on the 918 just to be able to order the 911 Turbo S 918 Edition.

I dont personally like Paganis . They are over styled and lack depth . To me they are just a bling bauble , but many of my friends disagree ( rightly so ) in fact I know 2 owners . We have often been out together and my cgt is always the car I want to get back in .
This picture just sums it up for me( look at the radio and the air con controls , proper posh kit car ) :

When i bought my first CGT i was thinking about a black and orange zonda f , I drove them back to back but bought german .
I understand that they are more limited in numbers but even that holds no appeal . I would wager that Porsche / ferrari do more r and d and testing on an indicator stalk than pagani and koenigsegegeegegeeeeg do on the entire car slight exaggeration but you know what i mean ) . Thats what im more concerned with . Remember the Zonda ring car that nearly killed the test driver ? That was with the whole factory there in support , imagine what a normal one does ...
Components from all round the world bolted to borrowed engines in a nice carbon body do not a supercar make for me im afraid .
As for the zonda R , it is not a road car my friends ( so not really fair to compare ) incidentally its too loud for most euro track days , so id beat it in a ford mondeo because where would I race it ? So it can beg as much as it wants

For me its Porsche , Ferrari , lamborghini and even Mclaren . These have proven their engineering prowess in the heat of battle ( call me a sentimental old goat if you like , you may well be right ).
Please dont ban me though I really like it here

I am sure porsche has done plenty of market research and everything but this just seems a little crazy. Almost $900k per car and they are building 900+? I guess this means the days of owning a unique low production supercar are over unless you have beyond astronomical wealth.

I am so confused about something . Companies like Koenisgseggeggegegegegeg and Pagani sell what are basically kit cars ( of a high standard undoubtedly ) and its ok for them to sell cars for 1.4 million Pounds (!) .
Yet a proper supercar maker , with heritage , engineering expertise ,experience etc etc makes something like this for half the price and its too expensive .
Can someone explain what thats about ?

Porsche/Ferrari/Lambo = corporate products who try their darndest to project personality while still trying to be politically correct for everyone, and essentially appeal to the masses.
How is that relevant to price point?
The former talks to the heart, the latter to the brain. I'm not even sure what the msrp for a Zonda F is. But I want one. No matter what.
Do I want an Reventon? Hell no, brain says I can have the SV for 25% of the cost.
For Porsche, it's very recent development. The CGT did (and does) talk to the heart. Milking the 911 with 1,000,000 "special" editions and the hybrid powerplant of the 918 is unsettling.
