GT2RS Inventory hurting cars reputation???
#101
I wish I could rep from the mobile app. Can we get someone to 'fix' that?
Last I checked - 180,000 euro equals 250,000 usd. So, I'm not understanding the discount in the EU - is sticker more there? With VAT?
I saw 1 red gt2rs and my pants dropped. My son was with me - he's 5 - he said daddy, can I have this as my first car - I promise to be good forever.
Maybe it's that I'm a classless American - but the car is gorgeous and to me, one hell of an engineering feat. I'm still jealous.
But - since the arrest - I drive slower than my wife

You could always trade in a watch and get yourself one?

So the GT2RS is outdated yet it is faster than many many new cars?
Also, many times dealers will tell the factory they have a client who wants said car, yet they really don't. The reason for this is to at least get the allocation of the car and than be able to sell it to still make a profit. Perfect example of this was a 599 GTO at a nearby dealer. They used a clients name to gain approval from FNA to get the allocation. When the car arrived they were then able to sell it for 125K over MSRP. This may not be the case with the 2RS, but many times this happens when dealers have to have a client for the car in order to get it.

Plus optionals of course...

Ressy - I can't quote from the mobile app either...
Ok - so if a euro gt2rs is 260e with options - that's insane. I give you that. I wouldn't pay 360K us for that Porsche.
Still - don't blame the playa, blame the game. Porsche is a bit off and should conduct some good ol market research.
Maybe they thought the market could bear that price.
Still - at 180euro they should get snapped up quickly.....or is everyone lining up for the mclaren 1rpm-12c?
Speaking of the mclaren....I read a great review written by JC himself in the latest topgear mag - to quote it directly (get ready mr rpm) 'the Ferrari (458) is a pair of stockings. The mclaren is a pair of tights. Scientifically and mathematically and practically, the mclaren is better. And yet somehow, it isn't.'
If Porsche would have brought all 500 GT2RS's to the US - all would have been sold. Period.
Both dealers in my area (Bergen NJ) will gladly take any excess inventory - they had lists an arms legenth. Two baseball players and one rapper got the three spots I knew about. There are at least more rappers who would buy the car.
It's the shiznit!

Do you actually know of anyone that wants a 2RS and can't get one? Cuz I sure don't and I read pretty much every Porsche forum online. Which is precisely why Schneider Nelson (within 40 mi of Bergen) could not find a buyer for their black 2RS 500/500 which they offered to a bunch of people before posting it on Dupot Registry for sale. Guess what? They also had said they had a bunch of 'interested' clients on a list. Sometimes interest does not translate to being able to stroke 250k checks. Lets not forget the silver one at Paul Miller, also within a 30 mile radius, which has been sitting in showroom for 3 weeks:

You know Champion Porsche? Largest Porsche dealer in the world. Well, I was in there a few weeks ago inquiring about 2RS. So what happened next? Wait for it ....
Last week they offered me one that was incoming, unsold, at MSRP. And I've NEVER EVEN BOUGHT A CAR FROM THEM! So if Champion has to offer a nobody like me a car, you can bet they have exhausted the usual avenues. You might want to point your rappers in that direction.

I'm feeling a bit of dejavu...
Why are you searching out every single GT2 RS that is available if you think it's an overpriced antique?
How about you put your money where your mouth is and just buy something... ANYTHING? You have sold your apparent 458, so you can indulge in something else.

At least you got one thing right - you know who and what you are. Nobody.
I'm glad you have time to lecture me on economics while surfing the net reading every Porsche forum. You are my hero. - and I'm sure
all the Europeans who you think get paid so much money are glad to know you think they are paid in accordance with Porsche list pricing.
You make me itch. Scratch scratch. Flea.
Wanna know what I think - I bet you don't even have a drivers license.
Btw - where are your 458 pics? Did you ever produce? I don't recall - I don't have time to read all the forums on the net. I save lives for a living.

what you did there, I see it

Go save some lives then and stick to what you know rather than making baseless statements on topics you are not educated about.
The 458 is status red10 and will going into production this month.
