I cannot believe Porsche did not make buyers sign a no-turnaround sale contract.
The seats look kinda cheap. Almost like a seat cover from Pepboys. I would go all black, carbon backs.

if this car would have been in manhattan motor cars, it would have sold for AT LEAST 100-150k over sticker... within minutes.
literally within minutes.

Honestly, I do. Porsche should. I have a client who has purchased a 2006 C4s Cab and a C2s Coupe, 2007 Turbo coupe and a C4S Cab, 2008 Cayenne Turbo, a Turbo Coupe, and a 2009 Turbo Cab and a Cayenne Turbo S.
When the GT2 was announced a few years back I tried every way to get him an allocation. He was not worthy. I called him at his place in Colorado to give him the bad news. Mind you he has never at this point owned a Ferrari, only Porsches. Two hours after my call he gets a call from the local Ferrari dealer who has been after him for years. They offer him a Scud allocation for $50K over MSRP. He now owns the Scud, a 458 and his wife has a Cali. 458 Spyder on order and thinking of a 599. Been to the Ferrari driving school three times in two years.
Currently in the garage, three Ferraris with one or two more coming. Porsches? Zero. So yeah, I care.

Its always good to treat people the right way.
Other school of thought....said audi dealer told me that the amount of profit he would make selling to the other R8 buyer would equal me buying 30 more cars from him over the rest of my life. He said that he appreciated my business, but its just that - business. Money today is worth more than money over time......
To each his own - I think the real issue is, Porsche should have built a few more cars - 500 is a small number. Had they made 750 - would that have fully sdatisfied demand? I still believe that these manufacturers - whether porsche, ferrari, patek, panerai, hermes, LV, nike sb or whatever product that is limited - creates these market shortages as its the best publicity.
I hope porsche smacks somebody down for selling a car to a jerk - but, I bet as they hang up the phone, they are high-fiving about the press.....
Supply and demand. Supply and Demand - the great marketing plan.

^Damned if you do, damned if you don't on # of cars to build. Everybody who can't get a car hates underproduction, everybody who can get one hates overproduction.

Yeah I got a VIN from them, but I had to call them 3 times for it...shesh.
You know, I grew up loving the 911s and as a kid I had a poster of a 930 Turbo. In college I was dreaming of how I can make money to afford one. My first P Car was a 07 997 Turbo and did the Protomotive 800 and was really thrilled, the next P car was my PanaTT, then my TurboS Cab and I've NEVER been to the track
I've always wanted to but never could find the time. The point of me boring you with my story is while I would love to do "mid-corner" darkies, I'm probably too chicken sh!t to do anything crazy because I know that I'm not experienced enough to handle so much car like the 2RS. That being said, I have finally decided to look for a 997 GT3 to start my "track" adventures and see how that goes. Although someone told me to start with a Miata or S2000. Not to be arrogant but I LOVE power so those won't work for me, plus the Miata is a FWD - ewwww. I can't recall the last time I've owned a car with less than 400HP (our Sienna doesn't count cuz we got kids
)

asg, I have NEVER sold a car over MSRP. Recently three GT3RS, three R8 5.2 Spyders and a coupe, a few SLS, Turbo S coupe and cab (your welcome Fred), and over the years a half dozen R8 4.2's, CLK Black, Z8's, various M cars, AMG's whatever you get the point.
I have a client who spends hundreds of thousands a year with me because I take care of him. He bought a Turbo S Cab and a R8 Spyder in the last six months. Nuff said.

This thread got to 8 pages fast.
Those adaptives look bad. I'm just not a fan of them in the race type cars. I almost did deviated stitching, and didn't. That could have looked good.
