Hello Roberto, welcome to TS.

Question:
Whatever happen to this Supersprint header/exhaust system I saw back in 2007? This appears to be a long tube header design.
I waited and it seemed to never materialize.

btw I've been running your headers on my E60 M5 since they came out back in early 2007 and have loved them.

The 244501 headers are vailable as well as the sports cat

There's a batch of rear exhausts 244526 planned for the new year

The pictures of 244526 and 244502 are actually of the prototypes so the quality is not as good as the finished product.

These headers are probably going out of production beacause we tested them against our new "step-design" 245801

The new one gave better results. On a 997 GT3 3.8:

OEM:
Claimed data:
Horsepower 435 Hp @ 7600 rpm
Torque 430 Nm @ 6250 rpm

Actual data:
Horsepower 446,0 Hp @ 8005 rpm
Torque 425,1 Nm @ 5390

Supersprint exhaust:
- Step-Design Manifold R.-L. 245801
- Metallic kat R.-L. WRC 245802
- Rear Exhaust OO 90 244526

Actual data:
Horsepower 465,7 @ 8185
Torque 437,4 @ 6640

They're more expensive because of the dual-diameter primary pipes, more complex to bend and weld.
This design is the result of a long development process on different cars (the first one was the M3 E46) and allow very good increase in performance on the whole rev range. The reduced diameter close to the head matches the exhaust ports and gives maximum speed to the gas for scavenging, then the larger diameter greatly reduces counterpressure and allow a better merging in the 3 into 1 manifold.

Yes, plus they have been developed for Hamann so they are sold through their distributors only:
Galerie
exhaust system MERCEDES G55 AMG V8 Kompressor, exhaust system components MERCEDES G55 AMG V8 Kompressor

We haven't received any request for headers for the G55 yet.
I suspect they would be very similar to other different 55 models, like the SL. We have the 844901 headers for it:

And we had very good results with the complete exhaust:
MERCEDES R230 SL 55 AMG V8 '02 ??'07 dyno testing, performance exhaust systems MERCEDES R230 SL AMG
Without a test car we couldn't even see if these could be adapted with a connecting pipe kit.

Roberto-

Lot of really great, no BS information. Thank you.

Do you all make systems in titanium?

PS- The header graphic on your website is PRICELESS! Love it.

Thanks for your appreciation. We don't make titatium exhaust, maybe in the future.
Due to our large product line and to our long experience we are specialized in stainless steel products.
To introduce a titanium product line would mean to profundly alter the structure and organization of our facility.
We're not even sure if titanium is the right way to go on road car exhausts. Yes it's lighter but the welding can be very fragile if not perfect (as you may know, titanium must be welded in a oxigen-less athmosphere to not oxidize), you can use thinner pipe walls but that can introduce resonances inside the car.
In the end, a full titanium exhaust with the same quality and durability we garantee would be very, very expensive.

We do have products in different materials, both at cheapest and at the most expensive end of the products range.
We make some aluminated steel exhaust for cheaper car, and we make 310s stainless steel an even Inconel ehxuast manifolds for turbo cars.
The 997 turbo inconel manifold will be introduced along the other products for porsche turbo models in the next days on the forum, but you can already find useful info on our website.

This is the Supersprint exhaust system for the 997 GT3

After multiple tests on different cars, both 3.6 and 3.8, we found out that the step design headers are the best for both power and torque on the whole rev range, so we're offering the same system on all the car: 997 GT3 and GT3RS 3.6 and 3.8.

The system components are:

245801 - "step design" headers.
All Aisi 304 stainless steel, laser cut flanges, madrel bent pipes with as few weldings as possibile.
Dual diameter primary pipes, for fast gas speed close to the heads, low counterpressure downstream and better merging in the manifolds.

244502 - Front metallic kat R.- L. WRC 100CPSI

Sorry for the quality of the picture.

244526 - Rear exhaust OO 90
(eliminates the stock side mufflers)
The black tips are not painted but we use an electrolytic chrome plating with a black compound. It's as durable as a classic high quality chrome finish.

The system is very efficient and we got very good results.
These are the dyno run of a 997 GT3 Mk2, you can find the video of the same dyno below:

We also offer a bypass pipes kit for OEM kats and muffler, that removes the side mufflers:
244613 + 244643

This kit is compatible with our rear exhaust 244526 too.

A few pictures of the exhaust on the car:

Prices for TS will be soon available.

More pictures of the step-design headers.
Note that all the pictures are of the prototype, so the finish will be better. You'll have a complete gallery of the production item very soon!

Not yet..i guess it'll be very similar to the the MERCEDES W204 C63 AMG V8 '07->, isn't a very similar chassis and the same drivetrain?
You should be able to fit the headers and cat of the C63, maybe even the rest of the exhaust, but the car is different in length, so something will be wrong. The engine is the same without the electronic throttle limiter.
We haven't had one at R&D yet, sorry!
