OP: Your post is a contradiction because the picture of the Carrara GT2 RS you posted has a red alcantara steering wheel...

I don't think you need a GT2 RS, especially with a 458 on the way. But, although the 996 GT2 and 997 GT2 RS look similar, they are two completely different cars. The GT2 RS is technically the fastest production car on the 'ring that is based off of a chassis that you can actually count on seeing on the road (the 911).

How about that special GT3 RS that's coming out? Seems to me that's even more unique than a GT2 RS.

cant show my white one, otherwise mofos would be all over it...
im sure 7.2RS is much nicer than my 6.2, but do they have to look so close? plus it values at almost 4 times market value now.

I'm a bit confused. Did you manage to get an allocation for one John? If so, congrats!!

What are the current Carrera GT's selling for in Taiwan (mileage/year)?

If you managed to get a slot for a GT2 RS John, I'd take it... In black with gold (though all colour combo's look great). The 993 GT2 was a legendary car - the 996 GT2 is truly fabulous but I don't think it has the same provenance as the 993. The 997 GT2 RS could well be the end of an era? Either way, you have very good taste in cars...

mike! next time u here on business u should put one on lufthansa for me!
im looking at cars in europe, mostly germany now, no slots here or atleast i didnt know any.

Like new CGT 05' less than 5k miles is like US$700K or less, tax is like half that. Not sure now because im not all that into it this season, but who knows, ask me next month maybe i want one again.
Im the sucker impulse buyer, unlike u.

I wish I had another allocation for you. At this stage all the finals orders have past point of no return. So your only bet now is to take over an existing spec'd car, if you can find one in your price range. I know the resellers will be asking a fair premium over MSRP.

That's not too bad. They sold a CGT here, with 6500 miles, 2005 model in GT silver/natural gray for 789,000 USD.

yea, the 4 im looking at now are on the showroom floor from $210k to $230k euros, are they too much? no premiums i know of, but i have no idea if thats high or not.

CGT option is always there, just i think its a little old school when im surrounded with all the latest hotshots. but if u think us$700k is cheap maybe i should live on cup noodles and do it.

I don't know what they originally sell for, so it's not fair that I comment as I don't think it would be accurate.

700k is definitely not cheap, just saying that you can pick it up for far less with lower mileage over there than here. R-R Ghost here is almost 700k.
