Insane was not the word he even asked me if I knew how rare the car was (duh?). I offered to buy it for sticker right over the phone and he said no we will sell it for that price. And in the mean time the car is already sitting there for a week. Sick people out there!

i'll be in the minority here but isn't one of the mantras of this board - what the market will bear? isn't that how many of us have made our money?
that said, i think these manufacturers should just raise the MSRP to a higher price. why not? if they're producing them in limited quantities, they are smart enough to understand they can raise the price; and they're smart enough to figure out that price.
assuming each dealer gets 1 on average, what goodwill are they accumulating by offering the car at a lower price than the market will bear? so each dealership can make an extra $100k every few years? meanwhile, everyone is upset b/c they feel the dealerships are trying to steal from everyone by offering the car over sticker.
dunno... raise the price, make it exclusive...
