Lightbulb Calling Tire Experts

Below is the pic of the rear tire. I want to know how bad are they?

M Sport Cups

I have notice in my last track day, the rear always try to slip and stability control comes earlier than my previous track days. In fact i did video comparison between my last track day and the one before...same corners but now tend to drift especially while existing the corner.

Status to date:
Age of the tires: 1 year form the date of purchasing the gt3
Km: 9k (~5600mils)
Hours of track days: about 4 hours...(4 track days events)
# Burnouts: twice lool

So they need to be change "now"? Can I still drive them "aggressively"...

I guess time to have slicks with separate center-look wheels just for track-days

Thanks

Tires look fine. Technically, the sport cups are not gone until some of the cords show. You still have some tread. Drive harder. They should not have lasted this long. Cup tires never last 5600 miles. 4 track days of hard driving on cups is about 1/2 their life. I've run em til they were almost slicks. That's when they are best.

The wear bars are showing, it's time to order new ones. Yes, you can still drive on it, and yes, it will have more grip than it did when you weren't driving on the bottom of the tire, but if it rains it will be all over the place and there's no way it will survive another track day like that. Don't wait for the cords to show, one tears and it will put you in the weeds.

X2. Friend with an '08 M3 just ripped one of his fronts down to the cords after 3 track days and 8000kms.

Perfect for one track day (in the dry!). Otherwise trash them. Wet driving only if you have a death wish.

How the hell do you get 5600 miles out of a set of Cups? Dear gawd man! Drive the poor car!

My rear cups are gone in 1500 miles. I think it says more about me than about the tires. I am ready for the nut house i guess.

If your looking for mileage in a track tyre you've got the Pirelli P-zero corsa system or the Toyo R888's.

Thanks all for the tips...

I thought those DOT will last longer!...and 5600m is low but to those cups I guess not..

I will check the market for availability...and head to the track again
