Annoyed with Porsche
Well about two months ago I decided to take the plunge and order my first Porsche, a GT3 RS. There were a few on the lots around the country but I wanted to take advantage of how Porsche let's you completely customize it the way you want...and once done you get a built date.
Well about a month or so ago I got a"denied" on my 'paint to match' choice as they said it was reserved for another model...Okay, I get it so within minutes I gave them the other option , the grey/black. All was good, the built date was still set at Oct 6. Now fast forward...On Oct 12 I get a message that they decided to just bump my built date back and hopefully it will be another month or so?
Why is this annoying, because I could have been driving it for a month or so prior to winter, now I can sit and look at it all winter. If I had known, I would have just bought it off the lot. Nice way to make an impression to a first time Porsche buyer....

It was the light non metallic grey on the new Classic...
They already have my deposit ( a traded in GTR) so I am stuck unless they don't get it to me by Dec 31st
I know that if I had a customer in my company who we refused a custom color then after it was expected to be delivered told them that sorry, we have not even made it yet and but "hopefully" we will make it in a month from now
....Heads would roll and it would never happen again

PAG does not accept Sport Classic Grey as PTS option. i tried. i've exchanged quite few emails directly with the Exclusive Dept & was amazed considering how much money Porsche is charging for the custom paint, the exclusive options etc., i don't think they're up to the ''service.'' PAG basically blames PCNA, since there are options that we can't get from Exclusive here in the states but available in ROW.
i have tried to submit many colors to PAG but most of them got rejected. btw, their policy is PAG has up to 6 months to test the paint if they can paint it for perfect match & meet the warranty standard. the waiting, in today's standard simply kills the deal for me. i had to pick an existing PTS color to speed up the process.
if they delay the production u can't do anything about it unless u're just walk away from the order/car. to be honest, there are quite few Grey Blacks out there right now can be had for decent deal. if i were u i'd just find one on the ground now.
