A good sound system is a must in every street car imo. If you were that serious about saving weight you should've gotten a cup car instead

get the cheaper radio and upgrade the system behind the radio. my rs has an extremely good sound with all aftermarket. my audio guy used the stock face but added subs, amps etc to make it pop for just a few grand.

I don't think any upgraded stereo's from any factory are worth it

^ what he said. and if you don't want to go aftermarket, then just get the upgrade.

When we drove in his CGT/Scud, of course they are the best sounding machines in the world. But on a longer drive or after a month, I am SURE you will get warmed up to it and want some good-ol' music again. And of course, the owner ^above^ agrees.

but the new RS have zero sound deadening, do you think that's still fine to upgrade the system?

I am more to the SPP now, although I have a seat in the new RS and the engine sound is very loud, but music is important when I am not pushing the car.

i have bigger better louder systems in my rs cs scud and 430 spider and they all sound terrific. it depends on your installer. do it right and it wont matter if the car has plastic windows like the rs or no insulation like the track purpose scud or cs.

doesnt matter who you are eventually you will tire of the engine note and want some Barenaked Ladies blasting out your favorite song..... oh wait. thats my favorite group

Sound Package Plus, or aftermarket. No need to go crazy, but tunes add to the experience IMO.
