Clang in GT3 when starting

My 2010 GT3 makes a clanging sound when starting cold - not everytime sometimes once a week more often about once a month & always on the first start of the day. Champion has not been able to make it happen and there is no service bulletin that I am aware of - anyone else?

Normal for this engine. Sounds like it will toss all the rods through the block for a few seconds. No worries unless continues while driving

Just a wild ass guess but maybe this has something to do with DFI? I don't know what kind of pressure it requires or what this pressure is produced by, but I wouldn't be terribly surprised if it was related to building fuel pressure. Of course, this could be completely off base.

Oh yeah - big clouds of smoke.... that part did not concern me. just the clang - so your input is very helpful. I have 7500 miles on mine with lots of track time - and onto my second set of sneakers. The car is my all time favorite!

happy to know others are clanging too!

THANKS!
